♣ What to shop in Germany? :-)

Hi fellas!

As I already told you I went Christmas shopping in Aachen (Germany) with my mother. The nice thing about shopping in other countries is that you discover new things, new stores and brands that you don't usually find in your own country.

One of those stores is Butler's. They have all kind of nice things for the home and the best of all is that it's at reasonable prices. Last year my mom got me there this cute warm-up bunny filled with cherry-stones. You just put it in the microwave and it keeps you warm for some hours during cold winter days.

Another German brand that I haven't found so far in Belgium is Liebeskind. I'm totally in love with this bag:

Another brand I discovered is Apricot. Apparently this brand comes from the UK, but I haven't seen it so far. I love their knitwear.

My absolute favourite!!! Einstein & Newton, a creative brand that I like for their statement t-shirts. Love it!

Unfortunately I didn't buy anything as I promised myself to wait until sales period. The only things I'm going to spend my money on for the moment are presents for friends and family. ;-)

A while ago I also wrote a post about what to shop in France. Check it out if you like! Ciao, ciao, x.

♣ Highly desired! Panasonic Lumix GM1

I'm in search of a new compact digital camera and I've my mind set on this beauty, the Panasonic Lumix GM1.

Of course I fell for the design, but also the fact that it's really really small is kind of appealing. Furthermore I've read some positive reviews on the camera all over the Internet. Probably it'll be a little bit too expensive to ask as a Christmas present, but my birthday's coming up in March... ;-)

The Lomography Experimental Lens Kit is also on my wish list. While they're well known for their cult analogue cameras they currently sell this lens kit that's compatible with some digital cameras.

I'd love to try them out! Guess I've to start saving...

Ciao for now! x.

✈ Paris ... quand on ajoute deux lettres, c’est le paradis

In September I visited a friend in Paris. Though a bit cliché I’m totally in love with the city; I love everything about it. I went for a three day visit. Of course you need far more time if you want to visit the entire city, but here are some things definitely worth visiting:

Musée d’Orsay

You’ll find some nice collections from Van Gogh, Toulouse-Lautrec, Renoir etc. Also the famous painting of Courbet is housed there: l’origine du monde. The building itself is marvelous, a former train station, designed in art-niveau style. I especially love the magnificent station clock at the side wing facing the river Seine.

The Berko cupcake store

This shop is just great. You’ll find all kinds of cupcakes there, in all colours and tastes. They also sell different kinds of cakes and sweets. There is one Berko close to the Pompidou center.

The Carousel near the Sacré-Coeur

Going for a ride on the carousel is definitely worth the while!
But of course the nicest thing when going on a city-trip is to wander about the streets and discover what the city has to offer. The French have a nice verb that covers this entire idea in one single word: ‘flaner’
